Meet Samuel
Samuel Brown-Vazquez is an educator, community organizer, environmental-justice advocate, and Bassett Unified Personnel Commissioner. He has spent years working alongside families throughout the East San Gabriel Valley to protect public schools, improve community health, preserve public land, and ensure residents have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect them.
Community Organizer
Samuel co-founded Avocado Heights Vaquer@s and Unión de Ranchos and has organized with parents and residents on environmental justice, school safety, equestrian-community preservation, language access, and responsible land use.
Educator and Public Servant
As a Bassett Unified Personnel Commissioner, Samuel has advocated for transparent procedures, fair treatment of employees, accountable administration, and institutions that serve students and families with integrity.
Why He Is Running
Samuel is running because Bassett needs leadership that will confront declining enrollment, strengthen academics, expand career and college pathways, protect public school property, and listen before making decisions that shape the community for generations.
